00.30 Sunday 8th January 2012 (not a night shift but still up)
Doesn't time fly, it's amazing how quickly you can get out of the habit of doing things, I was getting quite good at keeping up to date with this but with all the other things going on its slipped my mind.
So in the last month we had Christmas (which I worked) and new year (which I slept through) and now I need to inform you of what's happened since !
I'm writing series three which without been big headed is bloody marvoulous, I'm setting up a children's book group looking at spring/summer time launching that. I officially hired my PA, I was hoping she would take off some of my work load but at the moment that looks doubtful unless she's a writer !!!! And lastly I'm getting my life in order so things run smoother (she says) I hope having things in order helps to have a clear mind.
So things very very busy at the moment with nowhere near enought hours in the day but I'm loving it!!!
Take care
Speak soon x

I never know what date to put on a night shift. When your writing about the day gone not coming!
2.41am 5hours to go!
The "fairies" have been and doesn't it just put you in a great mood, smelling the tree (oh I love that smell), been extra tidy; because santas watching so things have to be tidy (I need my fossil bag!) the excitement in the air, writing letters, telling stories, visiting the man himself ! Maddie stood for 20mins getting herself more and more worked up waiting yesterday to see Santa, she's such a worrier, she panicked every time the door opened then after the 100th "I don't want to go in" the door opens and sheer panic set in she ran but the wrong way straight in to see him! I sat Dexter on the stool with Santa and Maddie stood in the far corner, then out of no-where "I want a baby that cries and a flashing yo-yo, Dexi wants a guitar blue I think" as confident as ever. She chatted away like she knew him and left with such a proud look on her face, knowing 'HE KNEW!' she wanted to save her present until we reached the car, with pure excitement on her face she unwrapped her gift hoping she'd said enough and absolute disappointment washed over her face while using the saddest voice I've ever heard " All I asked for was a baby that cry's and look what he gave me, A RAINDEER!!!!" I didn't know what to say, after only just hearing another mother call her child ungrateful I just laughed. She's three, how to explain we had another 3wks to go before he brings your 'real' presents and this was an extra one, but she loves her raindeer now so win win !!!
Tomorrow is going to be fun, my wonderful 'hobby' is going to be on show (literally) we're performing at the theatre! The Zumba Bradford Belles are hitting the big time! We did a run through in front of maybe 35 people at a school on Thursday and I've never laughed as much in my life. I'm on the end so had the view of the whole right hand side and a drum kit placed perfectly right in my spot! So not only did I have to concentrate on getting "The Mother" right I now had to negotiate the drum kit and random guitars placed carefully around ! Who knew 'me' time twice a week would lead to being on stage again ! (I danced for 15yrs before I had my children so you'd think I'd be used to it) Actually I can't even call it me time the 1st seven months Dexter came now the last seven maddies been, with my rehearsals for the 'belles' I must say I've got away with the last few weeks as they do run a little late, every night I get the usual "Are we going to Zumba mummy?" "not tonight my love" "oh is it a late one" she says in a very grown up voice. Fingers crossed for tomorrow and even if it all goes belly up I know we'll have fun anyway !!!
How can I write a post for an hour !
Bye for now x

The fairies are coming tomorrow!
I'm so excited I love Christmas, I can't wait! Dexters now old enough to open his presents and Maddie now understand what's happening.
Things are going well on the writing front, I'm itching to write another series but I need to concentrate on these, but when 'your job's done' and I have to sit around waiting for others to do their bit it's difficult.
We have coloured characters now so backgrounds are next on the list. Who new there were so many styles of "colouring in". I've had a million to choose from then the one I picked there were a million more in the same style, but I think we got there and I love them more now, they look so real. How Russell did it I've no idea, trying to draw not what he see's but what I'm seeing must be so hard especially as I'm so picky! I got a good one!
Again it's Wednesday so I have to spend the afternoon in the office (aka the loft coffee house) to do some updates and brainstorming with my PA, oh it's hard work!

What a week and it's only Tuesday, I'm hoping this week will fly so I can start again!
On a positive note, I've finished editing and most of the feedback has been collected, so things are moving along nicely. My website is now up and running, How on earth did i do that??? Computers and myself really don't get on, but I DID IT! Now it's not the best website in the world, but its made with love, so I'm very proud. Actually that's my life story really, I've always had to work hard for what I want, from 15yrs old I had 3 part time job's and managed to save £75 a week after board, which i saved religiously for years and if I hadn't of been dealt some very bad cards I'd be a millionaire! Bought my 1st car at 16, my 1st house at 18, and did it all alone. I wasn't the brightest star in the sky but i worked hard, got my head down and achieved more than most thought I could. Now the same "who does she think she is?" looks emerge, as I'm starting to tell people about my new venture but I actually believe this IS going to work so stand back and watch me fly.

Today has been quite a simple day.
This morning we went to the children's adventure centre, before taking moo to nursery, then this afternoon boring paperwork, emails, letters and that's about as exciting as my day got.
On the other hand tomorrow I'm meeting my illustrator, so I'm sure after tomorrow the wheels will be in motion and my books will look a little more like "the real thing".
I think I quite preferred it when people didn't know about my books, as all I ever seem to hear now is; "How are the books going?" Or "What's happening with the books?". Don't get me wrong, I love people being interested but answering the same questions 20 times a day gets a little bit depressing when I don't have any news and desperately want something exciting to tell people.
I'm sure by Christmas things will look a little more complete and I can start to make plans for publishing.
